I can see why so many Yelpers have reviewed this place with overwhelming positive reviews. This place is simply awesome from the service to the food to the ambiance! This place hits all the boxes. This is a 50's type diner with excellent service where servers dress in that era of clothing. The food has super flavor and their pancakes and French toast was fantastic! Take it from a helper who loves breakfast! One of the best French toasts you will have. If you are in the area, this is a MUST EAT PLACE!! You won't be disappointed! Make it a priority to stop here! You will certainly enjoy it!

Everytime we go to Sax's Joint I fall in love all over again. How have I not written a review? We visited on what is probably among the 4 busiest days of the year for Petaluma brunch; sunday antique faire day, at 12:30. We discovered parking in the back and as we walked through the enormous outdoor seating I thought to myself, "well, it will be at least an hour before we see any food, but WORTH IT". I am wrong again. We got to the front door and an adorable gal told us she would be right back for us and offered the counter, YES PLEASE. The counter is the best place to sit in a busy diner, you see everything. The ballet that unfolded before us was unlike anything I have seen in 45 years in the hospitality industry. This is why we do it, being completely slammed with customers and orders and pulling it off is immensely satisfying to do (and to watch)! Our counter server was also the waiter for the 4 or so tables in the foyer behind us, as well as acting as the expediter. She never missed a step. So the service as always: AMAZING. The food has always been great, the best diner food bar none. We ordered 'two eggs my way' $15 and the 'Mexican benedict' $17 both delicious. We were eating 12 minutes later. The hashbrowns are crispy top to bottom. The biscuit is the size of a softball. We gave in and finally ordered the famous giant cinnamon bun with a mountain of cream cheese icing, which we had successfully resisted on previous visits. I want to marry that bun. Food was: AMAZING. As usual, we needed boxes to take half of our food home, no waiting for the boxes either. We got the bill, and looking at the puny bottom line I thought she must have forgotten to charge for my bun - we had ordered it as an afterthought, but no, there it was, $8 for my future husband. On our way out every server that we past greeted us and thanked us for coming. Female owned and operated, mostly female staff, gorgeous ladies and beautifully decorated interiors, compostable togo boxes, incredible prices, what more can you want? Maybe the chicken and waffles next time...

Great breakfast spot! Huge portions, lots of choices, and great food! I came here on a Sunday morning around 10am and there was a small wait of 10min for indoors and no wait for outside. We decided to sit outside since it wasn't cold and they had headlamps. We ordered the corn beef hash, chicken fried steak chicken, and pancakes for the kids. Everything was amazing! The corn beef hash was very fresh, not your traditional carved hash, but you see chunks of corn beef mixed with potatoes. The chicken steak was thick and gravy was very savory. The kids loved the Mickey Mouse pancakes and bacon. Overall a great breakfast.

The service was excellent. We did not have to wait long on a Saturday morning around 10:30. Had the Florentine Benny, which was cooked perfectly. It came with a ton of hashbrowns and I ordered a side of bacon. It was really delicious. My BF had the hash with eggs and he really liked it as well. He loved the biscuit that came with it.

Stoped for breakfast with sweetheart, little grand baby and her mom. Sign said stroller not allowed. Warm friendly reception. Place small but clean and organized. Requested for patio sit since stroller not allowed. Staff accommodating and helpful. Got our patio sitting. Ordered crab cake Benedict and eggs and bacon with gluten free toast and home fries. Fresh coffee sounded so good on a nippy morning. Love their oldies music playing. Food was delicious and good size for an order. Fairly decent prize too. Nice enjoyable family breakfast.

Came here today with my 2 sons and enjoyed it. Service was excellent, we were greeted with smiles and quickly seated. The place wasn't super busy, and the vibes were good. Our food came out swiftly and was nice and hot. Our server checked in and made sure everything was great. I ordered the crab cake melt with fries and my son ordered the biscuits and gravy, with 2 eggs and sausages with a cookies and cream milkshake. The serving sizes are very generous. The food was delicious. Next time I'll order my crab cake melt with no spinach. I didn't like how the first 1/2 of my sandwich fell apart, had to get my hands dirty, but overall it was worth it. I definitely recommend this place and what I ordered! My son said he loved his shake and food too! My other son is a toddler so we just shared our food with him. The menu has so many options and the prices are great.
